A Childish Occurrence

Dear Readers,

This is Jessie. The heat still hasn't died done. URGH!

But I get home from school, and Mom and Dad are sitting on the couch. I frowned, hesitated, and then came in, wondering what on earth was going on.

"Uh, hey," I managed, dropping my backpack on the chair by the door. "Um, what's going on? You guys just have a little heart-to-heart talk or something? Because if so, I can leave..."

"Oh, no, actually, we were waiting for you to come home," smiled Mom, pushing a piece of hair behind her ear, giving that knowing smile to Dad.

"Oh, really?" I plopped down on one of the chairs.

"Yeah," agreed Dad. "We've got some important news."

I froze. Oh great!! We weren't moving, were we?! I still remembered with horror when we'd almost moved to Dodo, Alaska. YEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! With sweaty palms and a gulp, I looked up at them.

"So what's the news?" I whispered.

"Well...." Dad smiled at Mom.

"We're..." started Mom.

"...Going to be having a baby!" they both said at the same time.

I about choked. A BABY?! Were they kidding!? They couldn't have a baby!! I'd be like thirteen years older than it!! That was HORRIBLE!!!!! And it was probably going to be all stinky and whatever and I'd have to go and change all of its diapers. And then Mom and Dad would pay more attention to the baby than to me.

Ugh.

"Oh, uh, that's great," I managed feebly.

While they were rejoicing together, I went upstairs to my laptop and quickly shot Noah an email.

To: Noah Darcy <savethekoalabears@yahoo.com
From: Jessie Bender <dramaticcrazyjessie@gmail.com>
Subject: THE WORLD HAS COME TO AN END!!!

Noah,
I'm serious!! My parents are having a BABY!!!!!!! How horrible is that?! What am I going to do??!!?! I need some help!!!!!!!!!
Jessie

I quickly sent the email before I could change my mind.

What am I going to do?????

  1. Haha, I really want to make a remark about giving your sandwich to Noah.... ;D

But I won't. Instead, I'll say this: C'MON, GIRL!! THE WORLD WILL NOT END. EAT YOUR SANDWICH AND LIVE YOUR LIFE.
    {sorry. But honestly; I'd do anything to have a baby sister/brother}

  2. What's wrong with a baby I myself would be over joyed, ecstatic, and hopping up and down in anticipation if my mum told me she was having a baby a younger sibling who will look up to you, you can teach him/her everything and yes sometimes they'll be annoying but the day will always end with you loving them to pieces...unless you're that kind of person...nevermind as I was saying you're lucky cheer up this may very well be the most interesting time thing to happen in your teens.

    1. I guess Jessie's just kind of freaked out. Since she's been an only child her whole life, she's kind of heard all of the horrors of having little brothers and sisters and is freaked out. She's afraid that her parents won't have time for her anymore, just the baby, and that she'll kind of be forgotten. And I suppose she's kind of scared of babies.......

P.S. The first kind of sandwich that popped into my head when Madeline made her comment was a ham sandwich

    3. That's just how people write books. Like at that moment, when you say, "And I never saw her again", it's kind of like it's taking it away to the point of view of the Jessie who's now recording what had happened all of those years ago. By the way, your design is done. ;)

    4. I saw that thank you :) I'll put it up when I have time.
Okay so I was thinking maybe you could do a Cathrine Weatherbane
Memorabilia piece for me with lots of different pictures depicting the story
as it is so far :D

  4. Well, I can't say that I can relate. I am the oldest of 8 children. But though it does get just a little crazy sometimes. Baby's are wonderful! You get to cuddle them to sleep when there little, you can give them little silly things like a little doll or a little toy truck that you found and they love it! They think your the best! And another thing! You can tell them things or show them how to do something and they will think your amazing! Because your their big sister! They think you know everything! I love it when my little sister runs through the house calling my name and when she finds me asks if I can make her a cheese sandwich (her favorite) then she jumps up and down waiting or the treat while I make it for her. And then there's those really special moments when your walking and they just grab your hand and start walking with you. Little baby's are a true gift from God. Believe me, when that baby is born you will NEVER want to give it up! And don't worry.....your parents will never stop loving you, though the baby may require more attention at first they will always love you. If I were you I would be SO excited!
