A really strange and random poll

Dear Readers,

I'm just really interested to see what you guys think.... I mean, really...

OK, ready? :)

(this might be kind of weird, but just hold on)

Which of the following movies/books are better?
Hunger Games
Twilight

Which of the following movies/books are worse?
Hunger Games
Twilight

I know they're both really popular, so I was just wondering what YOU guys think.

(I, personally, have never read any of the books of either series, never read Twilight, and only watched the first Hunger Games, so.... yeah....... =P)

I'm just really interested to see. :)

Hope you tell me. :)

Love,
Willow

  2. Never seen or read either, but I definitely don't agree with twilight.
I heard that in the hunger games the parents left the kids..dad didn't like that he really protective so he would die before he left us. Though I like the City of Ember which is sorta similar... :)
I believe twilight is worse though.. :-/

  3. 1. Hunger Games!
    2. Twilight

I have read and watched the Hunger Games and love them even though kids are killing kids. :P I can't stand Twilight and don't plan on reading or watching them. I just don't get what's so fascinating about vampires and werewolves.
This is a good question because I tend to wonder the same. They are pretty high in popularity. I wonder which one overall people like better...

    1. I know... I was just kind of wondering, considering that they're both really popular. I have a cousin and a best friend, and one of them loves Twilight and the other loves The Hunger Games, so, yeah... =D

  4. Okay number one...Twilight (if you're talking about the vampire one..are there any other ones?

Twilight: If you like stories about girls who have huge crushes on vampires and even throw themselves in front of dangerous moving vehicles to get their attention, then you'll love this book!

Hunger Games: From what I've learned on Wikipedia. It's series about a girl who prentends to like this one boy so that she can earn the favor of the sponsors and the boy she pretends to like actually "likes" her and when he discovers that she didn't really like him (though she does now) he feels really betrayed.

So Twilight/Hunger Games = MURFT Mixed Up Romances for Teens

but I haven't read either of them for real but I've hear and read a lot about them soooo I feel confident in my conclusion.

    1. heh Well, I don't really like the Katniss-has-to-kill-people-to-survive thing. I mean, I understand it, but as a Christian I would sacrifice myself rather then kill other people, even in self defense. Though I admit that the movie wasn't as bad as I thought, it still makes me shiver... =P (and the vampire thing? It creeps me out.... really badly... =P)

  6. I liked the hunger games movie, it entertained me. I've never read the books, but someday I might.
I did not like the twilight movie at all though. It was soooo slow and boring. which is some of the reason I refuse to read it.
    that's my opinion anyway...

  8. I would give The Hunger Games a definite number one. I have read the books and watched the movie (2nd film comes this November), and though I don't like the idea of kids killing kids, nor much of the romance... it is a really unique and gripping plot that, sadly, isn't too different from our world today. I guess I like it better because it is closer to relate to... Seems more real. I can tell you NO ONE sparkles.

I probably shouldn't be so judgmental, because I have never read nor watched anything related to Twilight, and I NEVER will. But from what I've seen in previews and read in movie reviews, it is NOT worth it. Who in the world wants some STALKER guy to follow you around and watch you while you sleep?!? It's CREEPY!! And a big NO-NO!! Twilight, in general, for a Christian, it is not recommended.

    1. If I had to pick, I'd definitely pick Hunger Games, I just don't like the other things in it... =P And I agree--that's the reason we watched it. We were comparing to it, "What if that happened to Christians?" and asking questions and stuff. :)

Oh, wow. That's wayyyyy even creeper then I knew. =P

  9. Oh, and in case anyone is interested... I've actually written a poem pertaining to Twilight.

You can find it here: http://sarah-plainandaverage.blogspot.com/p/princess-poetry.html (just scroll down till you find "I Haven't Read Twilight.")

  10. I've seen both the Hunger Games and all the Twilight (Except the last one) movies. I've not read the Twilight books but have read all the Hunger Games books. I think there is good in both, but the reason I didn't really really like Twilight was because I like the lead female characters to be strong and to have a good sense of justice. While Bella has neither, Katniss has both and more! I could deal with the violence of THG because, to me, like the gladiators from the Roman times. While the Twilight storyline is very, very shallow; the Hunger Games had meaning, and is sort of a warning to us about what could happen. When I watched the Hunger Games, it made me want to read the books again (I had already read the first one for school) but when I watched Twilight... I had no inclination to read the books. I don't think either one was terrible... but the number one is the Hunger Games.
Sorry for such a long comment:P

    1. That's OK. :) I like long comments. :) I agree that if I had to choose, I'd choose the Hunger Games over Twilight. We watched the movie THG and made a parallel to what might happen to Christians. But there is a little bit of a different to watching war movies and watching kids kill each other... =P Anyway, that's just what I think. ;)
