One Year, Perpetual Sports Look, SNOW!, and Ballet

Dear Readers,

First off... I'VE NOW BEEN BLOGGING FOR A YEAR!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!! =D The celebration's going on over here. ;)

Well, I finally got out of the perpetual sports look. What on earth do I mean by that?! Well, see, with my brace, I can't wear jeans (yeah, my brace for my torn ACL), so I've been stuck wearing sport shorts and sweat pants. But then yesterday I got some jean shorts (I'd grown out of my other ones =P), so now I'm out of having the perpetual sports look!!!! YAY!!!! =D So, even though it's snowing outside (YES, MORE SNOW), I'm sitting at the computer here in jean shorts and a T-shirt. =D (and icing my knee. So like double cold. ;D)

Anyway, so you might be wondering why on earth I have a pair of ballet shoes as the picture and why I'm rambling off about being stuck in the perpetual sports look and a whole year of blogging. Well, dear friend, I'll tell you. :)

When I was younger, I was like addicted to those Barbie movies. NO JOKE. And if you've ever watched them (I totally understand if you haven't.... I mean, it's Barbie...), then you know that like they do ballet in EVERY. SINGLE. MOVIE. So, yeah, I wanted to be a ballerina. I would always draw pictures that looked like the ones above, because I wanted to wear those shoes sooooooo much. (or maybe I just wanted to have the pretty outfit like Barbie....?) Either way, I got myself signed up for ballet class. It was just being taught by a friend of ours, and we moved away before we could really learn very much. :/ Still, I got to wear that pink outfit for just a little while. :) Ah, the lovely days.... Well, now I sometimes kind of [partly] wish that I'd still done ballet. Of course, I probably can't NOW because of my torn ACL (at least for awhile), but still... there's still that part of me...

Have you ever wanted to be a ballerina? :)

Love,
Willow

  1. I USED TO LOVE THE BARBIE MOVIES TOO! I mean when I was younger I was in love with the movies and I also DREAMED OF BECOMING A BALLERINA! But that dream has slowly gone away =P I want to be a writer now!

  2. Well let me tell you...I've always loved Ballet and I really wanted lessons when I was younger and people said I was good for it and I had the stance of a ballerina, I was constantly on the tips of my toes and then some, My mom bought us girls ballerina dresses and tiara's and the starter slippers, we wore them allllll the time.

Now...I'm not built like a ballerina I've been told I'm perfect for gymnastics...a but I don't want to do that I'm terrified of flips and such! Haha so yeah ballet was a something I wished to do and still wish to do but probably never will do.

  3. I haven't always wanted to dance, even though its a passion now. Dancing is very very hard but it's so fun! I haven't gotten my point shoes yet, but if I keep working hard I'll either get them this year or early next year. So I'm differently very excited for that. I'm told it hurts a lot to go on toe wearing point shoes, but I still want them nevertheless.
Random fact about ballet: it's called ''the cruel art''. Okay. I'm done ranting now. :)

    1. That's so cool, Madeline. :) I have friends who do dance, and they say that it hurts a lot... like their feet bleed... anyway... =P

Wow, really?! I think it should be called "The Graceful Art". =)

  4. Haha! Would you believe it, I am almost 21 and I STILL watch the Barbie movies!!!

Yes, ballet! Dance is one of my passions. A couple years ago now, I had the privilege of taking classes at a Christian studio. I loved every minute of it, and still wish I could go back. ^__^ But I still have the chance to dance, even though you probably can't call it ballet... My sisters and I teach a Footpraise group at church with a bunch of kids. Having so much fun!

Dance! as if no one is watching. <3

    1. Well, I only watch them when I'm sick and just need good ol' barbie instead of some violet action movie. =D

Cool! I know someone who dances for a Christian studio, too. :) I think she does ballet... I don't really remember... =P

      I love that quote!! :)

  5. First of all, congrats on one year! :D I can't believe it's been that long... I used to LOVE watching the Barbie movies too! I watched every single one of them with my sisters and wished I could be a princess too. :) And I also dreamed about being a ballerina - I still love it and actually tried it last year, but it wasn't for me. :P I'd rather watch other people do it then attempt at doing a pirouette or the splits - oh dear Lord no - not the splits! :P :D
