Exploding [cake] Innards

Dear Readers,

Hello!! Yes, it is crazy, dramatic Jessie. :) And I have a story to tell. You may find it funny, you might find it horrifying, you may find it hilarious, but whatever you find it, make sure you tell me what you find it. :D

OK, so I was out in the field, about to write a letter to you guys and then mail it to Storyteller. And then all of a sudden there's this awful smell that comes to my nose. And I heard some screaming and a crash from the house. And there's kind of like this big billow of smoke rising out of the window over the stove.

I dropped the paper and pen and ran for the house (I hope that Storyteller didn't mind the grass smudges on the paper I gave her), my heart pounding wildly--how somebody broken in and murdered Mom, starting to burn the house to cover his awful dead?! Had somebody tried to STEAL something and then Mom had stopped him, but accidently knocked over the scentsy and started a FIRE?!?!

I threw open the door. Smoke met me and I started coughing uncontrollably.

"Jessie?" Mom coughed. "Is that you?"

"Yeah!" I yelled. "What's with all the smoke? Are you alright?! What happened!?"

The conversation unfolded something like this:

Mom: Well, you know that chocolate cake I made last night?

Me: Yeah. What about it? And what's that awful burning smell??

Mom: Well.... I was cooking some eggs for breakfast, and I forgot about the pan on the stove and turned on the burner.

Me: What?!

Mom: And then the glass pan exploded. So before you come any closer, do you have shoes on?

Me: Well, uh, yes.

Mom: OK, be careful.

So, yeah. Mom made a cake, put it on the stove, turned on the burner the next morning and the glass exploded. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat the rest of the cake.

So what do you think about THAT?

Bye!!!! ;)

Love,
Jessie
